After a pleasant January, the Malayalam film industry has entered the month of February, with high hopes and expectations pinned up on the month.
Despite the theatre strike that affected the industry badly, the previous month was a fruitful one, considering the fact that two big super hits came in the form of Mohanlal’s Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol and Dulquer Salmaan starrer Jomonte Suvisheshangal.
Unlike January, the month of February has some good number of movies in store, for the audiences. Take a look at the Malayalam movies, which would be hitting the theatres in February 2017.
Fukri, directed by Siddique and featuring Jayasurya in the lead role, will be the first big release of the month. The film has been slated for a release on February 3, 2017. The movie which will be in the lines of a family entertainer is expected to bring in family audiences in large numbers to the theatres.
Ezra, is one of the most awaited movies of the year. This Prithviraj starrer has raised the expectations to a new level with the teasers and the posters of the movie released, so far. The film, directed by debutant Jay K is expected to be a different horror movie. Ezra will hit the theatres on February 10, 2017.
Veeram is coming to the theatres with the label of being the most expensive Malayalam movie of all-time. The movie, directed by Jayaraj is a loose adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Veeram was earlier screened in various film festivals and has won wide praises. The movie will hit the theatres on February 17, 2017.
Vineeth Sreenivasan is all set to impress the viewers with his upcoming film Aby, which will narrate the story of a youngster who dreams to make an aeroplane. The film, directed by Srikanth Murali was earlier planned as January release, but now the film will release on February 23, 2017.
In fact, the month of February will witness the release of one Malayalam movie per week. As mentioned above, Jayasurya starrer Fukri will start off the race with the movie gracing the screens on February 3, 2017.
